The Spielberg rises northwest of the town of Großriedenthal and is used for viticulture in its south-facing locations. Agriculture is practiced on the flat slopes to the north and east. Its highest peak is wooded.

The Spielberg can be addressed as a southern branch of the Hohenwarther Platte .
