Hohenwarther plate
The Hohenwarther Platte is a tertiary gravel area and extends from the northern Tullnerfeld to the southwestern Weinviertel .
Emergence
The extensive gravel area was raised in the Pliocene , i.e. before the Ice Ages, by the original Danube, which then flowed over the Weinviertel. In the direction of flow of the Urdonau it connects to the southern flank of the Manhartsberg and is interrupted in the east by the Schmidatal . The Urdonau then flowed on through the Fahndorfer hill country and the Ernstbrunn forest .
After water was previously considered a scarce commodity, the settlements mostly arose near springs, which is partly recognizable by their names such as ( Ebersbrunn or Radlbrunn ). The town is named after Hohenwarth .
