Aubin Pasque

Aubin Pasque (* 1903 in Cheratte (near Liège ), † 1981 in Brussels ) was a Belgian painter , draftsman and graphic artist .

life and career

Training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, later from 1921 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Study trips to Spain. Founded in 1958 together with Carmen Defize, Aline Gagnaire u. a. the surrealist artist group Fantasmagie and published an artist magazine of the same name.

Inspired by Julius Bretz's deserted landscapes, Aubin Pasque also developed a preference for deserted landscapes. In addition to still lifes, he always preferred the lonely forests of the Ardennes as a subject - even later, when he had already discovered the surreal painting style for himself. In the 1970s he experimented with the collage technique. Pasque has had numerous national and international exhibitions.
