Audrey Patterson
Audrey Patterson (born September 27, 1926 in New Orleans , † August 23, 1996 in National City , California ) was an American sprinter .
At the 1948 Olympic Games in London, she won bronze in the 200-meter run behind the Dutchwoman Fanny Blankers-Koen and the British Audrey Williamson , making her the first African-American woman to win an Olympic medal.
