Auersberg houses

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Auersberg houses were a settlement at the foot of the Auersberg in the western Ore Mountains . They were on the eastern slope of the mountain, where the Kleine Bockau forms a base and the Riesenberg rises to the east . Miners and tin workers have been active in this Auersberger Grund since early modern times . There were several stamp mills and the existing hut or colliery houses gave rise to the small settlement in the middle of the forest.

Until the late 19th century Auersberger houses, including standing on a mountain meadow Huthaus the United Mine . They were destroyed by a major fire in 1907 and not rebuilt afterwards. Today only a few remains of the wall remind of the existence of this former mining settlement.

Not far from the Auersberg houses, a kiln was still active in the late 19th century .
