On-floor duct

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A floor duct is used for electrical installation to accommodate electrical cables under the floor covering to be applied later . It is mainly used in renovation or renovation .

description

Mainly used in old buildings , the floor duct is used to accommodate the cables laid under the finished floor covering. The floor channel is installed on the unfinished floor before the floor covering, such as carpet , laminate or PVC floor coverings, is attached. For renovation in particular, floor-to-ceiling ducts are used that are applied, usually glued, to the finished floor covering. These usually have a surface in the form of a section of a circle in order to avoid stumbling over the ducts or cables laid in them and to enable driving over them. The simplified laying of the floor channel means that chiselling work is largely unnecessary. Only wall openings have to be made if the duct is laid between rooms separated from one another by walls. The floor channel can be loaded and walked on immediately after the floor covering has been applied. Any gluing or curing times for the finished flooring must be taken into account.

Expansion options

The floor duct can be supplemented by equipment carriers that are mounted on it. These are used to install connection options such as power sockets, antennas , telephones or network sockets .
