history
Germany
Until the 1980s, the Deutsche Bundespost did not connect telephones with freely accessible plugs, but there was a junction box to which the telephone connection cable was screwed. Any change could only be made by a Bundespost technician. The telephones were not available in free trade, but were the property of the Federal Post Office.
