August Bootz

August Bootz (born May 6, 1807 in Ettlingen , † April 22, 1851 in Rastatt ) was a German painter and draftsman . He was primarily a portrait painter and also created large-format portraits on behalf of the Baden court. His subject area included religious paintings as well as the three altarpieces created in 1838 for the church in Plittersdorf and the paintings created between 1848 and 1849 for the church in Renchen .

Bootz worked as a drawing teacher at the high school in Rastatt from 1835 to 1850. He also worked as a restorer and restored the Wendelinus depiction in the church of Weisenbach .
