Life

Glucker graduated from high school in Aalen, today's Schubartgymnasium , in 1914 . In 1922 he founded a school in Stuttgart in which he wanted to “grasp people as a whole” and “lead them to physical and emotional harmony” through “all-round harmonious physical education” and “naturally extensive breathing”. He was influenced by the numerous currents at the beginning of the 20th century, which propagated a change in exercise behavior, a new physical culture, which, however, partially led to an irrational idolization of the body and ultimately also influenced the racist ideology of the National Socialists . Glucker advertises his ideas in a large number of publications: "Jump rope gymnastics", "Humans breathe!", "The health-artistic jump", "Swimming and jumping in the water", "Your morning gymnastics" are the titles of some of his books .

In 1931 he developed the so-called “Kino-Sportbuch”, which he had patented. The scrolling of a large number of phase photos creates a film-like movement in the style of flip books. He describes it as follows: “In the present“ Kino-Sportbuch ”(cinema sports book ), the exercise can be seen in lively motion, as on the film screen , due to the peculiar arrangement of the images ( protected by the Reich patent office ) when leafing through. It is a completely natural and fluid rendering of the exercises. In this way, even the most difficult movements can be shown so clearly that every layperson can understand them. "
