August Grötzner

August Grötzner (born October 19, 1867 in Groß Neundorf , Neisse district ; † after 1932) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Grötzner learned the carpentry trade. He then worked as a farm worker, was organized in a union and from 1911 to 1933 he was the full-time Gauleiter of the farm workers' association in Wroclaw .

Grötzner joined the SPD and was chairman of the social democrats in Neisse from 1905 to 1911 . He ran for the Reichstag election in 1920 , but could not win a seat. From 1920 to 1933 he was a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council . In 1928 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932.
