August Meyerhuber

August Meyerhuber (born April 23, 1879 in Karlsruhe ; † February 18, 1963 there ) was a German sculptor and stonemason .

Live and act

August Meyerhuber came from the well-known family of stone sculptors Meyerhuber and was trained in his father's workshop. Between the years 1895 and 1899 he attended the Karlsruhe School of Applied Arts (today the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe ). Until 1912 he was a student of the French sculptor Auguste Dujardin in Metz . August Meyerhuber mainly works in his hometown Karlsruhe , where many of the works he designed are still to this day. His most famous work is the Indian fountain in Karlsruhe's Südstadt district.
