August Reith

August Reith (* 1838 in Düsseldorf ; † after 1877) was a German engraver from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

From 1848 to 1850, Reith attended the Sunday class of the copper engraver Joseph Kellers at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Little is known about his further training and career path. In the 1870s he was commissioned to record the important choir stalls of Cologne Cathedral in 50 panels so that it could be presented in collotype. Reith could only carry out this assignment up to the eighth table.
