August Sutor

August Sutor (born May 17, 1812 in Hamburg , † October 20, 1884 in Meiningen ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Sutor was a son of the money changer Joachim Melchior Carsten Sutor and Therese Adelheid, nee Wessel. After attending school at the Johanneum in Hamburg, he initially worked in commerce from 1830. Later he decided to study law . In preparation, Sutor attended the academic high school in Hamburg in 1833 and 1834 and was then enrolled at the universities of Berlin and Göttingen . On August 19, 1837 he was promoted to Dr. jur. did his doctorate and then acquired citizenship in Hamburg. Sutor was enrolled as a lawyer in Hamburg on October 22, 1837 and was admitted as such until 1860. For some time he worked with Johannes Versmann . From January 30, 1860, Sutor was a judge at the commercial court until he retired in 1871 due to illness.

In addition to some books and writings, Sutor wrote articles for the magazine Der Freischütz and the Kölner Zeitung . Under the pseudonym August von Leisten he wrote poems and contributions for the Hamburger Bote and the North Albingian Album .

Sutor was a member of the Hamburg Constituent Assembly and was from 1859 to 1865 the Hamburg Parliament as an MP at.

August Sutor married Lida Sophia Philippine Julie Fincke from Göttingen on May 29, 1841 .
