August Underground is an American horror film and pseudo snuff film from 2001, which was produced by Toe Tag Pictures. This film was directed by Fred Vogel , who was also responsible for the two successors Mordum and August Underground's Penance .

content

Two people kidnap, rape and torture people indiscriminately and film them with their video cameras. There is no real plot in this film. The film is mainly limited to making the torture and murder scenes appear as authentic as possible.

Production and publication

Fred Vogel directed the production of Toe Tag Pictures and wrote the script with Allen Peters. The music is by Richard J. Donahue. Kelly Hutch was responsible for the editing.

The film has been edited to make it seem like a real amateur video . The aim is to give the impression that these acts are real. The originally planned promotion gag of placing unlabeled video cassettes in public places was dropped for fear of legal consequences.

The film was released on video in several states. In the USA, the film was also released in a 70-minute director-cut version.
