August Wacker (born July 29, 1902 in Trier , † June 5, 1963 in Bendorf ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

August Wacker spent childhood and youth in Bendorf on the Rhine. He attended elementary school and learned the trade of gardener. Until his death he worked as a gardener, driver and employee.

Political activity

After the end of the Second World War in 1945, Wacker co-founded the CDP / CDU Bendorf. From November 1946 to May 1947 he was a member of the advisory state assembly that drafted the constitution of Rhineland-Palatinate . August Wacker held numerous offices. He was local and district chairman of the CDU, member of the city council, district council and district committee; from 1951 until his death he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . In 1959 he was a member of the Federal Assembly in Berlin. He officiated as district chairman of the social committees of the Middle Rhine district, as deputy chairman of the social policy committee of the state parliament. Wacker was a member of the CDU regional executive committee.

The city of Bendorf honored him by naming a new street in the “In der Bitz” district “August-Wacker-Straße”.
