Auguste Béchard

Auguste Béchard (born October 16, 1883 in Anduze , † August 22, 1965 in Lédignan ) was a French politician. From 1936 to 1940 he was a member of the National Assembly .

Béchard fought for a year and a half in World War I and was awarded the Croix de guerre for his services . He became mayor of the municipality of Lédignan and entered the general council of the department of Gard . In 1936 he ran for the Communist Party in parliamentary elections and was elected to the National Assembly. In February 1940 he was withdrawn from his seat in the communist faction. Although this step was declared invalid in 1944, Béchard was no longer politically active and retired to Lédignan, where he died in 1965.
