Auguste Walter

Auguste Walter (born December 24, 1885 in Bielefeld ; † September 18, 1948 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Auguste Walter attended elementary school in Bielefeld from 1892 to 1900. Until her marriage in 1919, she worked as a textile worker in a Bielefeld linen and silk weaving mill. In 1909 she married the transport worker Georg Walter (born December 16, 1882 in Wallstadt). After that she was a housewife. Walter joined the SPD, worked in communal welfare and was a city ​​councilor in Bielefeld from 1919 to 1933 . She took part in several SPD party conventions. In 1928 she was elected to the Prussian Landtag , to which she belonged until 1932 and again in 1933. After the assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 , she was briefly imprisoned as part of the " Operation Grid ".
