Auguste von Anhalt-Dessau, Princess of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt

Amalie Auguste von Anhalt-Dessau (born August 18, 1793 in Dessau , † June 12, 1854 in Rudolstadt ) from the Ascan family was a princess of Anhalt-Dessau and, by marriage, princess of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

Life

Auguste was the oldest child of the Hereditary Prince Friedrich von Anhalt-Dessau (1769–1814) from his marriage to Christiana Amalie (1774–1846), daughter of Landgrave Friedrich V of Hesse-Homburg .

She married Prince Friedrich Günther von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt (1793–1867) in Dessau on April 15, 1816 . The princess, described as gentle and lovable, was popular with the population and was considered a supporter of science and art. After her death, Friedrich Günther married the daughter of Augustes brother Georg .

Auguste was buried in the princely crypt of the Rudolstadt cemetery.
