Augustin Egger (politician)

Augustin Egger (born November 27, 1830 in Freiburg im Üechtland ; † December 15, 1866 ibid) was a Swiss politician and State Chancellor of the Canton of Friborg .

Life

Egger came from Freiburg. His parents were the craftsmen Antoine Egger and Marie-Louise geb. Michel. In 1861 he married Agnès-Philomène Dumoulin. The couple had two sons. The first, Charles (1862-1926), was a lawyer, conservative councilor from 1896, municipal councilor of the city of Freiburg (1922-1926) and colonel. The second, Louis (1865–1915), emigrated to Guinea , where he was head of the French trading offices.

Augustin Egger worked for the Chroniqueur until 1856. From 1858 to 1863 he was Vice Chancellor, from 1863 to 1866 State Chancellor in the canton of Friborg .
