Augusto Barrera
Augusto Barrera Guarderas (born December 11, 1961 in Quito , Ecuador ) is an Ecuadorian doctor, social scientist, politician and mayor of Quito since July 31, 2009.
Life
Barrera studied medicine at the Universidad Central del Ecuador from 1979 to 1986, at the FLACSO Quito from 1997 to 1999 and at the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía from 1999 to 2001, social and political sciences. He has given courses in social sciences at FLACSO Quito, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar Quito and Universidad Central del Ecuador , among others . He served on Quito City Council from January 2005 to October 2008. Barrera is a member of Alianza PAÍS .
