Augustus Frederick d'Este

Augustus Frederick d'Este (born January 13, 1794 in Essex , † December 28, 1848 in Kensington Gore ) was a grandson of the British King George III. The marriage of his parents, Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex , and Lady Augusta Murray (1762-1830), was not formal under the Royal Marriages Act of 1772 to establish his eligibility for the throne.

From 1815 he was Grand Master of the Premier Grand Lodge of England .

His diary contains a description of his then unidentified multiple sclerosis and its course over a period of 24 years. The records extend from 1822 to 1846. They were not observed until 1919 and 1948.
