Aurélio Denegri Valega (born September 3, 1840 in Lima , † February 19, 1909 ibid) was a Peruvian politician who was Prime Minister of Peru in 1881 and again between 1887 and 1889 .

Life

Denegri was an entrepreneur and in 1874 succeeded José Simeón Tejeda as mayor of Lima before being replaced in this office by Francisco Rosas Balcázar in 1875 . From October 29 to 31, 1879, he was Minister of Finance and Trade (Ministro de Hacienda y Comercio) for the first time . On March 12, 1881 he took over the post of Prime Minister of Peru for the first time during the tenure of President Manuel Francisco García-Calderón y Landa and remained in this post until November 1881. At the same time he acted again between March 12 and July 20, 1881 as Minister of Finance and Trade.

During the tenure of President Andrés Avelino Cáceres , Denegri was second vice-president between 1886 and 1890. In addition, he was the successor to Raymundo Morales Arias between November 8, 1887 and his replacement by José Mariano Jiménez Wald on March 8, 1889 again Prime Minister of Peru. At the same time he was from November 8, 1887 to March 8, 1889 Minister of the Interior and Police (Ministro de Gobierno y Policía) and Minister of Public Works.
