from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Auroraförbundet (dt. Aurorabund ) was a Swedish literary society of romanticism .

The Aurorabund was founded on October 7, 1807 in Uppsala under the name Musis amici and took the name Auroraförbundet in 1809 . In it, those representatives of the Swedish Romanticism gathered who were oriented towards German idealism and German poetry, especially Schelling and the brothers August Wilhelm and Friedrich Schlegel .

The society published the magazine "Phosphoros" (1810/13, Der Lichtbringer ), which is why its members were later also referred to as Phosphorists . Theoretical and artistic spokesman for the association was Per Daniel Amadeus Atterbom . However, the Aurora Association quickly lost its importance, the last meeting of its members took place in the winter of 1810.
