The Ausoniusstraße is after the Roman writer Ausonius named street in Trier on the edge of downtown . It connects Martinsufer with Friedrich-Ebert-Allee .

It is designed as a one-way street and, in contrast to Lindenstrasse, is only driven into town. In the direction of the city, from Martinsufer, an arch is driven over Ausoniusstraße and Friedrich-Ebert-Allee to Nordallee and out of town the Lindenstraße, which connects Nordallee with Georg-Schmitt-Platz on the banks of the Moselle.

There are several cultural monuments in the street , including the orangery of the former Teutonic order and the south facade of the Martinskloster . The so-called Toni-Chorus-Halle, which will be extensively renovated in 2016, is also located on the street.
