Occupational Medicine Committee

The Committee for Occupational Medicine (AfAMed) is a voluntary body to be set up in accordance with Section 9 of the Ordinance on Occupational Health Care . The management lies with the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA).

According to Section 9 of the Ordinance on Preventive Occupational Health Care (ArbMedVV), it is the AfAMed's task to develop occupational medical rules and recommendations for the specification of the ArbMedVV. In addition, the committee is to advise the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on all questions of preventive occupational health care and occupational health protection.

AfAMed has twelve volunteer members from employers, trade unions, state authorities, statutory accident insurance and academia. The current chairman of the AfAMed is Stephan Letzel .
