The Australian Lightwing GR 912 and Sport 2000 is a family of sport aircraft from the Australian manufacturer Australian Lightwing .

History and construction

The family's planes are braced high-wing aircraft with conventional tail units and either a non-retractable nose wheel landing gear or a tail wheel landing gear. The closed cabin has two seats in tandem configuration. The hull is made of welded steel tubes and is covered with GRP and fabric. The wings consist of an aluminum frame and are partly clad with aluminum and partly covered with fabric. The Rotax 582 two -stroke engine with 48 kW, the Rotax-912 ULS four-stroke engine with 75 kW or various motor vehicle engine conversions are available as standard engines. The aircraft is also offered as a kit for amateur construction .
