The Australian lobster ( Panulirus cygnus ) is a species of the lobster family .
The maximum body length of this lobster species is 40 centimeters. The mean carapace length is between eight and ten centimeters, a maximum of 14 centimeters. Like all lobsters, it is nocturnal and likes to hide in crevices or between corals during the day. The distribution of the Australian lobster is restricted to the coastal area of Western Australia . It lives from the surface of the water to a depth of 90, a maximum of 120 meters. It goes on short hikes and is omnivorous.
