The award for the socialist education of our youth was from 1958 to 1960 the highest award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1958 in three stages, bronze , silver and gold . The successor was the Artur Becker Medal awarded from 1959 .

Appearance

The gold-plated, silver-plated or bronze-colored round medal has a diameter of 30 mm and shows the four-line inscription on a red enamelled background: FOR THE / SOCIALIST / FUTURE / OUR YOUTH . The same slogan was used on the successor, the Artur Becker Medal, as a legend on the lapel . The medallion is enclosed by two crossed laurel branches that are bent upwards and show the symbol of the FDJ at their lower intersection. The laurel branches and the FDJ symbol are kept in the respective awarded level. The back of the award is smooth and shows a horizontally soldered needle with a locking hook.
