House Martin Gate
The Martinspforte house (also known as the old city pharmacy ) is a listed building at Kämmererstraße 60 in Worms . The house, built in 1904 according to plans by Georg Metzler , is based in its shape on the late medieval or early modern Martin gate, a nearby gate of the inner city wall, which was destroyed in 1689 .
A five-storey tower made of sandstone blocks with a slate dome and a wooden balcony emphasizes the corner situation of the triangular building plot between Friedrichstrasse and Kämmererstrasse. At the three-storey tower Putzbauten close as side wings in two roads on one has been executed in sandstone basement on, each with a four-storey dormer in Renaissance forms are completed.
The visible facade of the tower shows the coat of arms of the city of Worms between the third and fourth floors.
