Avi Granot
Avi Granot (* 1950 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli diplomat .
Granot was born in Tel Aviv in 1950 as the son of Jews from Poland who had been saved by Oskar Schindler . After completing his military service in the Israel Defense Forces , Granot studied at the State University of New York in the United States and later continued his studies in Israel.
After Granot graduated, he worked in the diplomatic service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry. As a diplomat, he held various positions and worked at the Israeli representations in Ottawa , Rome , Pretoria and Washington, DC . During his subsequent career he was the Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia and later served as political advisor to Moshe Katzav , during his seven-year tenure as president . Since October 2007 Granot has been the Israeli ambassador to Finland with simultaneous accreditation as a non-resident ambassador to Estonia .
