The AFS Aviation Fuel Services GmbH is a service provider in the field of aviation fueling , tank farm management and the design and construction of airport tank farms (Fuel Farms) and air refuellers in Germany and Austria.

AFS refueled the aviation fuels JET A-1 and AvGas 100 LL .

history

Aviation Fuel Services tanker at Cologne / Bonn Airport

AFS GmbH was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary of Lufthansa Commercial Holding GmbH and VEBA Oel AG in Hamburg . Both companies each owned a 50% stake. A little later, the first tank operation was established at Munich-Riem Airport . At that time AFS had 14 employees and six vehicles. A year later the tank service was opened at Hamburg Airport. Frankfurt Fuelling Services was founded in 1988 as a joint venture with Caltex .

After German reunification, AFS took over the airport tank operations in Leipzig , Dresden , Erfurt and Berlin-Schönefeld, which were formerly part of the VEB Kombinat Minol .

In the years that followed, operations began at other international airports in Germany and Austria. In addition, the AFS-managed joint venture TFSS has been operating Post's own tanker fleet of EAT and DHL at Leipzig / Halle Airport since 2008 .

The subsidiary GlobeFuel Systems & Services GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2003 for the IT services sector . This sells the worldwide used software Fuel Handling System (FHS) and "PlanIT".
