Avraham Yekel

Avraham Yekel (* 1922 , † 1976 ) was an Israeli author who deals with the formation looked for peace.

Life

Yekel survived imprisonment and stays in National Socialist and Soviet camps. He was director of the International Cultural Center for Youth in Jerusalem until the 1970s . Yekel worked for a reconciliation between Israelis and Arabs in the Middle East conflict . He criticized the opinion that “higher education leads to higher humanity” and regards this as a mistake. His best-known work is Towards a better tomorrow: an Israeli experiment in education for international understanding .
