I'm not a gun

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm Not a Gun is a project by the two musicians John Tejada and Takeshi Nishimoto . The band's releases can be assigned to the electronica genre in the broadest sense , but they also pick up on influences from post-rock and jazz .

history

Tejada and Nishimoto met in Los Angeles in 1998 , where Nishimoto studied at the University of Southern California and worked as a session musician. While Nishimoto composes the pieces and plays the guitar, Tejada plays the drums and is responsible for the electronic effects.

In 2003 her debut album Everything At Once was released on the Berlin label City Center Offices (CCO). At the same time, the EP Make Sense And Loose was released with remixes by Tejada, Ulrich Schnauss and Smyglyssna . After two more albums on CCO, the band's first album, Mirror, followed in 2008 on Tejada's own label Palette Recordings. In 2010 the album Solace was released , this time again on CCO.

The band has already toured Japan and performed live in Los Angeles and Berlin.
