City Center Offices ( CCO ) is a British record label for electronic music , with offices in Manchester ( England ) and Berlin ( Germany ). CCO has published music by the artists Arovane , Christian Kleine , Casino Versus Japan , Dub Tractor , I'm Not a Gun , Marsen Jules , Move D and Ulrich Schnauss , among others .

history

City Center Offices was founded in October 1998 by the music dealer Shlom Sviri and the German musician and music journalist Thaddeus Herrmann ( De: Bug ). The independent distributor Indigo took over the distribution for Germany .

The first publication appeared on January 31, 1999, the 7 ″ Occer / Silicad by Arovane, limited to 500 copies . Initially it was planned to publish only 7 ″ records. After Sviri and Herrmann received numerous suggestions for complete albums from the label musicians, they turned away from the pure 7 "concept. The first long player was Arovane's album Tides , which was released on June 1, 2000.

The sub-label Büro was founded in 2006, and its publications have a strong focus on the genres of post-rock and shoegazing .

By November 2009, 45 albums and over 30 singles and EPs had been released. Six albums were released on the Büro sub-label during the same period.
