Christian Kleine (* 8. December 1974 in Lindau ) is a German Electronica - musicians , DJ and sound designer.

Life

Kleine grew up on Lake Constance and began classical trumpet training at the age of 10. He later learned to play the bass guitar and drums. Initially strongly influenced by New Wave and Post-Punk , he quickly turned to electronic music. At the age of 17 he started to DJ and soon had a regular engagement as a club resident DJ.

In 1995, Kleine moved to Berlin, where he initially produced his own music as a solo artist. Two years later he met the Berlin radio DJ Thaddeus Herrmann , with whom he founded the Hermann & Kleine project . Both recorded two EPs and one album together. Small solo debut album Beyond Repair was released in 2001 on Herrmann's City Center Offices label . This was followed by a collaboration with the musician Arovane , for whose second album Tides Kleine acted as co-producer.

Kleine has been working for the Berlin music software company Ableton since 2001 , where he has been responsible for the development of content for the Max for Live product since 2011 .

After several years without any publications, from 2010 onwards, small albums appeared again in digital self-distribution. In 2018 he published a retrospective of early productions on the US label A Strangely Isolated Place under the title Electronic Music From The Lost World: 1998–2001 .
