John Tejada
John Tejada (born April 21, 1974 in Vienna ) is an Austrian DJ and producer of electronic dance music. Tejada is the operator of the two labels Palette Recordings and Sonikore Recordings . He lives and works in the San Fernando Valley .
In 1982 Tejada moved with his mother to California and started producing his own tracks there in 1991. The first releases appeared in 1996 on the Palette Recordings label he founded . Other releases appeared on A13 , Multiplex , Poker Flat Recordings and Daniel Bell 's 7th City label .
Many of his tracks were created from the collaboration with his friend Arian Leviste . As John Tejada & Arian Leviste , they released the albums Fairfax Sake (on Playhouse ) and Back For Basics (on Palette Recordings).
Together with the guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto , he is behind the music project I'm Not a Gun . The collaboration resulted in several albums that were released by City Center Offices .
Tejada and the entertainer Reggie Watts form the duo Wajatta. In the album Don't Let Get You Down (2020 on Flying Lotus ' label Brainfeeder) the online radio station ByteFM sees parallels to "the time of origin" of electronic dance music in the 1970s.
In 2009 he mixed the 44th edition of the renowned compilation series Fabric Live .
In addition to his publications and remixes, Tejada also works as a music producer for television and commercials.
