Awerintzewia cyclostoma is a shell amoeba of the Arcellinida . It is also known in German as the round-mouth shell amoeba. The species occurs in ponds on aquatic plants and in peat moss lawns .

features

Awerintzewia cyclostoma is 135 to 180 micrometers long. The case is dark purple and oval. It is densely paved with quartz debris. The mouth opening is elliptical.
