The AWIN AG is an unlisted public company , which as a global affiliate marketing network e-commerce - and online marketing -Services offered.

Awin is the world's largest provider of affiliate marketing and, as a network, connects advertisers and publishers worldwide. Awin markets products and services on the Internet for around 29,500 international advertising customers and cooperates with over 200,000 active sales partners. According to its own information, the network thus reaches end customers in over 180 countries around the world. The company's largest advertising customers in Germany include Telekom , 1 & 1 , Opodo , Volkswagen Bank and Postbank , ASOS and Douglas .

With effect from March 6, 2017, the two companies of the former zanox Group: zanox and Affiliate Window will appear as a joint brand under the name Awin. The aim should be to create a globally uniform brand identity.

The company was founded in 2000 by Thomas Hessler, Heiko Rauch and Jens Hewald. The founders left the company in March 2010.

Holdings

Since 2007, Awin has owned 52.5% of Axel Springer SE and 47.5% of Swisscom (Schweiz) AG. In June 2006 Awin acquired the Hamburg internet agency eprofessional GmbH. Awin currently employs more than 1,000 people at 15 locations around the world.

In January 2017, Awin acquired the American affiliate network ShareASale in order to strengthen its presence in the USA. Since May 2017 there has also been a strategic partnership with the Australian network Commission Factory to increase the range in Australia and the APAC region.

The intended merger with the German affiliate network affilinet was announced on August 2, 2017, and received the approval of the antitrust authorities on September 20, 2017. Axel Springer has acquired the shares in Swisscom AG, resulting in a new structure. The new company is 80% owned by Axel Springer SE and 20% by United Internet , to which affilinet was previously a 100% subsidiary. On October 1, 2018, affilinet GmbH merged into AWIN AG. Awin will continue all business as legal successor. From now on affilinet is no longer a company, but just a brand of AWIN AG.
