Axel Beyer (cyclist)

Alexander "Axel" Beyer (born May 9, 1891 in Aue ; † after 1921) was a German track cyclist .

At the UCI-Bahn World Championships in 1913 in the Kaiser Wilhelm Stadium in Berlin , Axel Beyer came second in the amateurs' standing race . The German Rad- und Kraftfahrer-Zeitung wrote:

“At the 100 km championship race, Beyer's good driving was generally noticed, and it almost gave the impression that this German was going to give the dreaded Englishman [Leon Meredith] a hard drive and fight for victory. There were also moments at the beginning of the race that spoke for the possibility of victory for the Dresdener, so there was an exciting position battle in the 42nd lap, which was decided to the detriment of the Englishman amid the thundering cheers, his attempt to get Beyer here lap was completely knocked off. Unfortunately, Axel Beyer later failed [...] "

At the beginning of July 1921, Beyer won together with the fisherman from Dresden in Budapest in a couple of 15 kilometers.
