Werner Ruttkus (born August 27, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German sports journalist .

In his youth, Werner Ruttkus, who learned to be a toolmaker , was active as a racing cyclist in the SG Semper himself . His greatest success was a fifth place in the two-man team driving at the GDR railway championships .

Ruttkus later worked as a journalist for the newspapers Der Radsportler and Deutsche Sportecho . From the mid-1990s he worked as a freelance journalist and was part of the organizational teams for the 1997 European Track Championships and a run at the 1998 Track Cycling World Cup , both in the Berlin Velodrom . From 1996 to 2010 he was press spokesman for the Berlin six-day race .

In 2009 Werner Ruttkus opened a cycling museum in Wünsdorf , which had to close at the end of 2012 for financial reasons. He now houses the small private museum "Speech Sports Gallery" in his home. In October 2018 he was one of the co-founders of the Berlin-Brandenburg bike club - friends of former racing cyclists .
