Otto Friedrich (cycling official)

Otto Friedrich (* 3. September 1940 in Halle (Saale) , † 9 July 2008 in Forst (Lausitz) ) was a German official in cycling and organizer of bicycle races .

Life

Friedrich was initially a cyclist himself , he started from 1954 to 1958 for BSG Motor Albert-Richter in Halle and from 1958 to 1963 for SG Dynamo Cottbus . In 1963 he founded the cycling section at SG Dynamo Forst, today's police sports club. Since then he has been the organizer of many bike races on the track in Forst and Cottbus and of road races . He was in charge of the organizing committees of GDR championships, stage arrivals of the peace trips in Lusatia, German and GDR championships on the track and on the road, and finally two European championships. In total, more than 370 GDR, German and European title fights of all ages and performance classes took place during his time as head of the cycling office in Forst, which he headed for more than 35 years.

Frederick was also for many years the second chairman of the Police Sports Association in 1893 Forst, Vice President of Brandenburg Cycling Federation and its general manager, vice president of the Association Peace Race and member of the Presidium of the German cycling federation of the GDR (DRSV) was next Täve Schur as a co-founder of Peace Race and was the managing director of this association. He was very committed to the renovation of the cycling track in Forst .
