Axel Kolodziej (* 1968 in Remscheid ) is a German historian.

Life

Kolodziej studied Middle and Modern History, Politics and Geography at the University of Bonn and graduated in 1996 with a Magister Artium in Middle and Modern History. He received his doctorate in 2003 with his thesis about "Duke William I of mountain" to Dr. phil. His dissertation at the Institute for Historical Regional Studies of the Rhineland (University of Bonn) was supervised by Wilhelm Janssen and Manfred Groten .

From 2009 to 2010 he chaired the Remscheid department of the Bergisches Geschichtsverein .

As the successor to Stefan Geppert, Kolodziej was managing director of the palace building association and director of the Bergisches Museum at Burg Castle in Solingen from 2010 to March 31, 2011 . This was followed by a premature separation, despite his good reputation through numerous lectures in the Bergisches Geschichtsverein as a historian, because the Schlossbauverein under the chairman Klaus-Dieter Schulz and Kolodziej had different ideas about the management of Burg Castle .
