Life

In 1865 he and his brother Udo opened their own photo studio in Uddevalla . Around 1867 he moved his business to Gothenburg . He developed a particular interest in landscape photography, first on the west coast of Sweden , then in Norway. In 1883 he sold his shares in his Swedish photo studio and commercially devoted himself exclusively to the Norwegian landscape. He worked closely with Richard Andvord's publishing house .

He had increasingly taken root in Norway from the 1860s. Some of his recordings are dedicated to Marcus Selmer and Knud Knudsen .

His pictures were characterized by their high quality. A large number of Axel Lindahl's Norwegian negatives later became part of the collection of the photographer Anders Beer Wilse . Wilse's photo archive is now owned by the Norsk Folkemuseum in Oslo.
