Aynaet ( Coptic : "evil eye") is a female demon from the mythology of Ethiopia .

She is the personification of the "evil eye" with which she sows death and ruin among people. Clear parallels to Agash can be drawn here, presumably it is just the regional form of the same entity. Allegedly, she is said to have once met Jesus , who turned her to ashes only through the power of his words.

It is sometimes called "demon eye" or "shadow eye".
