Bárbara Leticia Bonola Jiménez (* 1987 in Xalapa , Veracruz ) is a Mexican triathlete .

Career

In the ranking of the Mexican Triathlon Association for 2009 Bonola was ranked fifth in the elite U23 category and ninth in the general elite category, but she only took part in one of eleven national ones that were included in the ranking , Race (Monterrey). In 2010 Bonola fell back to 13th place in the elite U23 ranking.

In Mexico, Barbara Bonola represents the Veratrix Club , to which her trainer Eugenio Chimal Domínguez belongs, as well as the Triatlón Sports Xalapa Club founded in early 2009 by her father, the Mexican triathlete Vladimir Bonola Pérez . In the Mexican Olimpiada Nacional she has been in the top ten for years, in 2009 she was number nine in her age group (20-23), in 2010 she was number eight.

Barbara Bonola has been taking part in ITU competitions since 2007, and since 2008 she has regularly achieved top ten positions at Pan America Cups and championships in both the U23 and elite classes. She has also competed in the ITU World Championships since 2007 as a member of the Mexican team: in Hamburg (2007) she was 13th, in Vancouver (2008) and on the Gold Coast (2009) 10th, but not in the U23 -Category, but in the Age Group 20-24. On the Gold Coast in 2009, there were no Mexicans in the U23 or the elite class, Bonola was second best of her team behind Michelle Flipo (7th).

Barbara Bonola studied at the Escuela de Administración de Empresas Turísticas of the University of Xalapa. It has not appeared internationally since 2009.
