The Bächergrund is a valley between Lorch and Assmannshausen in the Rheingau in Hesse . In the lower Bächergrund lies the southern end of the elongated locality of Lorch.

The valley extends in the southern part of the Lorch district from the Rhine at the level of the Kleiner Lorcher Werth at river kilometer 538 to the Rheinhöhenweg ( Nothgottesweg ) at the Twelve Apostles . The northern border of the Bächergrund is the Mandelberg (355 meters), to the south the mountain spur of the Geißberg and the Kestellhecken form a natural border. At the upper end of the valley there is a parking lot, from here you can take walks on the Rheinsteig or the Rheinhöhenweg. There are several allotment gardens in the Bächergrund itself. The south-facing slopes are taken up by abandoned and now bushy vineyards up to a height of 250 meters. The valley is otherwise forested. The forest is predominantly made up of hornbeams , oak , locust and pine trees are also found .
