history

The Bäcker Zeitung was founded in 1909 as a baker's newspaper for North, West and Central Germany by the Hanover Bakers' Association. The first edition of the magazine appeared on January 30, 1909 with Georg Severin as publisher. In the same year he was replaced by Paul Dobler, the owner of the Alfelder Gilde-Fachverlag. In 1934 his son Ewald Dobler took over the specialist newspaper. This was replaced in 1946 by his son Hans-Gerhard Dobler. Wilhelm Schlame has been running Gilde-Fachverlag since 1984, while Hans-Gerhard Dobler was the publisher of the imprint until 2001.

Bakers newspaper at BackMedia

On January 1, 2002, BackMedia Verlagsgesellschaft mbH in Bochum, founded in 2001, acquired the Bäcker Zeitung with Trond Patzphal as publisher . At the beginning of 2014, BackMedia Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Bochum, was merged with INGER Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Osnabrück. While the Bäcker-Welt was initially a supplement to the Bäcker Zeitung , it has now been included in the specialist magazine. As an integral part of the Bäcker Zeitung , the Bäcker-Welt provides information in the middle of each issue about regional and association news from the individual federal states.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bäcker Zeitung , a special edition was published in 1959 by Gilde-Fachverlag.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bäcker Zeitung , a special edition was published in 2009 by BackMedia Verlagsgesellschaft mbH. In 2009, the Bäcker Zeitung appeared regularly 40 times a year with an average print run of around 7,000 copies.
