Bärbel Holzheuer-Rothensteiner

Bärbel Holzheuer-Rothensteiner (born October 10, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). She was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1998 to 2011 .

biography

Bärbel Holzheuer-Rothensteiner completed an apprenticeship as an operations and transport specialist at the Deutsche Reichsbahn after completing secondary school. She then trained to become a foreign language correspondent. After completing her secondary school diploma, she studied business administration at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 1980. She then studied sociology and political science at the Free University of Berlin until 1986 . She then worked in marketing, sales and organization in the fields of tourism, publishing and software.

Holzheuer-Rothensteiner was a member of the SEW from 1976 to 1990 , and has been a member of the PDS since 2001 and has been part of the Die Linke party since it was founded.

On June 20, 1998, she moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives for Thomas Flierl , who had resigned, and was directly elected member of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf 3 constituency from 1999 to 2011 . Most recently, she was spokeswoman for consumer protection policy in her group.
