Béchervaise Buttress is a 1330 m high ridge of Big Ben on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises in a southwest-northeast orientation on the northeast flank of the volcano.
Namesake is the Australian polar explorer John Mayston Béchervaise (1910-1998), head of the station at Atlas Cove for a winter team of a 1953 campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
