Bohemian cubit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bohemian cubit was a measure of length in the Kingdom of Bohemia and a distinction was made between the older and newer cubits before the Austrian measures became legal. The replacement was the Wiener Elle . Like the other so-called Viennese weights and measures, this should apply on a voluntary basis as early as 1760 . It was not until the imperial ordinance of June 18, 1855 that the law was applied to June 1, 1856.

  • Old 1 Bohemian cubit = 263.84 Parisian lines = 0.59518 meters
  • New 1 Bohemian cubit = 263,306 Parisian lines = 0.59397 meters
